Courtney E. A. Sylvester is an Associate Attorney at Degan, Blanchard & Nash.
Her practice focuses on the defense of employers and insurance carriers for claims arising under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, Defense Base Act, and War Hazards Compensation Act. She has over 13 years of legal experience and a proven track record of client satisfaction.
She received her B.S. from Louisiana State University in 2011 and received her J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in 2015. Courtney completed a clerkship with the Thirtieth Judicial District court in Vernon parish and has worked in several areas of law, including personal injury, class action, tort, criminal, and insurance defense.
Her biggest strength lies in the analysis of the information specific to each individual claim and the work product she produces based on her analysis. Courtney’s meticulous attention to detail allows her to produce thorough and persuasive support for our clients’ positions. She has an outgoing personality and establishes rapport easily with others. Client satisfaction is one of her highest priorities. “I believe the best way to achieve client satisfaction entails two main factors. The first is always being available to speak with the client and answer any questions they may have accurately and completely. The second is to provide the client with all the information that they may need to make the best, informed decisions in each individual claim. I enjoy being able to provide both of these aspects to our clients.”
Courtney is originally from Natchitoches, Louisiana, where her father still practices law as an attorney and her mother is a district court judge. She is a die-hard LSU fan and loves participating in the Krewe of Barkus with her Yorkie-Poo, Kappy.
