Bio

Jeanne M. Bourque is Of Counsel in the Lafayette office of Degan, Blanchard & Nash, where her practice centers on insurance defense litigation. Ms. Borque brings more than two decades of experience representing employers, insurers, and third-party administrators in all stages of defending and investigating claims. Ms. Bourque began her career with the U.S. Department of Labor, where she drafted judicial opinions under the Longshore & Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, providing a foundation in workers’ compensation law that she continues to draw on today.

Throughout her career, Ms. Bourque has successfully defended clients in a wide range of civil litigation, including premises liability, employment disputes, police liability, and industrial accident cases. Ms. Bourque has extensive trial experience, having tried numerous cases to verdict, and has also argued appeals on behalf of her clients. In addition to her courtroom skill, Ms. Bourque is highly experienced in evaluating claims, conducting depositions, negotiating settlements, and managing high-exposure matters efficiently to resolution.

Ms. Bourque’s practice is marked by her ability to assess risk, mediate disputes, and protect client interests while minimizing costs. Ms. Bourque earned her Juris Doctor from Loyola University College of Law in 1999 and her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 1990.
