Jonathan L. Brehm is an associate at Degan, Blanchard & Nash’s New Orleans office. Jon is an experienced litigator with more than a decade of experience in civil litigation, workers’ compensation, motion practice, appellate practice, mediation, arbitration, and settlement negotiation. He is proud to join Degan, Blanchard & Nash’s Workers’ Compensation workgroup and is excited to support the firm’s expanding practice and excellent reputation.
Jon received his B.A. from Tulane University in 2003 and had extensive career experience before becoming a lawyer. During college, Jon fell in love with New Orleans and decided to join Teach for America after graduation to serve his community as a TFA Greater New Orleans Corps Member. He had the privilege of teaching English/Language Arts at Alcee Fortier High School until Hurricane Katrina forced it to close. After Katrina, Jon worked as a renovation contractor and for several local and national non-profits until he attended law school.
Jon received his J.D. and D.C.L. from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University in 2012. Prior to joining Degan, Blanchard & Nash in 2026, Jon’s practice included insurance defense, municipal/government liability, business representation, public bid, construction litigation, workers’ compensation defense, civil rights, personal injury, asbestos litigation, defamation and privacy torts, in addition to his current practice areas.
Jon is licensed to practice in Louisiana and is admitted to all Louisiana State Courts as well as the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He is a member of the Louisiana Bar Association, New Orleans Bar Association, and the New Orleans Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.
