Bio

Sheri Marcus Morris has 30 years’ experience representing public agencies, public employees, and public officials in federal and state courts, in administrative hearings and before the Louisiana Legislature.

Ms. Morris served as an Assistant Attorney General, General Counsel to the Louisiana Secretary of State and the City Attorney for the City of Central. She was appointed to serve as the first City Attorney for the City of St. George in June of 2024.

Having represented state agencies, municipalities, and school boards in litigation involving construction, employment, and general liability and having been appointed to represent numerous state agencies, public officials, and public employees covered by the Louisiana Office of Risk Management, the LSU Risk and the Louisiana Clerks of Court Risk Management Agency, Ms. Morris concentrates her practice on administrative law, civil rights defense, election law, employment law, licensing law, and retirement law. She also advises the boards of licensing agencies, neighborhood improvement districts, and retirement systems on policies and procedures, Open Meetings Law, Public Records Law, and Public Bid Law.

Ms. Morris is admitted to practice before all Louisiana state courts, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Louisiana, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. She is a member of the Federal Bar Association for the Middle District and the Louisiana and Baton Rouge Bar Associations and the Municipal Attorneys Association. She serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Louisiana Bar Foundation.
