Kaylin is a civil litigation and insurance defense attorney who represents clients in state and federal courts across Louisiana, handling matters from inception through trial and appeal. Her practice focuses on insurance defense, including construction litigation, professional liability, labor and employment, product liability, trucking and transportation, premises liability, and general casualty matters. Kaylin approaches each case with a results-driven mindset and is committed to treating her clients’ challenges as her own.
Before joining the firm, Kaylin practiced at one of the largest civil litigation firms in the country, where she defended insurers and commercial clients, including manufacturers, construction companies, healthcare entities, oil and gas companies, property owners, and professionals in complex, high-exposure, multi-party, and multi-jurisdiction litigation. During that time, she secured multiple favorable defense outcomes, including a complete dismissal for a construction client in a long-running property damage case involving seven-figure exposure and continuing tort allegations. She prevailed at the trial court level, successfully argued the case on appeal, and defeated further review before the Louisiana Supreme Court, resulting in the dismissal of all remaining construction and insurance defendants.
Earlier in her career, Kaylin gained plaintiff-side trial experience handling product liability and other personal injury matters, including a case that resulted in a multi-million-dollar jury verdict shortly after her admission to the bar. This experience provides her with valuable insight into how cases are developed, valued, negotiated, and tried from both perspectives, shaping her strategic approach to litigation.
Kaylin earned her Juris Doctor and Diploma in Comparative Law from Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center, where she was inducted into the National Order of Barristers and recognized for excellence in oral advocacy. She also earned an LL.M. in International Law from the Institut de Hautes Études Internationales et du Développement in Geneva, Switzerland, where she was a Rotary International Global Scholar. She received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Mathematics from Xavier University of Louisiana.
Kaylin is admitted to practice in Louisiana, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Louisiana. She has been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star and a Top Lawyer in Acadiana. In addition, she previously served as Chair of the Commercial and Construction Litigation Practice Group for the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel.
Outside of the office, Kaylin enjoys volunteering, traveling, spending time outdoors, and experimenting with new recipes. She is also active in the legal and local community through pro bono work, bar service, and her involvement with the Rotary Club.
